در شهرستان طبس هم به مانند دیگر شهرهای ایران برنامه رصد عطارد از مقابل خورشید توسط علاقمندان نجوم و با همکاری پژوهش سرای دکتر حسابی شهرستان طبس برگزار گردید. این برنامه از ساعت 15:30 آغاز گردید و تا غروب خورشید به طول انجامید.
در این برنامه علاقمندان با تلسکوپ دابسونی 8 اینجی این پدیده نجومی را رصد کردند. همچنین نمایشگاه تصاویر نجومی هم همراه با این برنامه برگزار گردید که علاقمندان از این نمایشگاه هم دیدن کردند.
